Bamtastic Embroidery Hoop Instructions: Mental Health Awareness week

£0.00

Instructions for sewing your own Bamtastic Embroidery Hoop. Free but please donate to Làmhan’s fundraiser for our Kiltmaking for Veterans project during Mental Health Week

Description

As it is Mental Health Awareness Week, and we firmly believe in Stitching for Mental Health, we are offering the instructions for our Bamtastic! Embroidery Hoops for free.  We hope you will find it in your hearts to give us a donation, 100% of which will go towards our work supporting our wonderful Veterans.

We also have kits available for sale, featuring repurposed pre-consumer tartan (thank you, Lochcarron!) and repurposed embroidery threads. (Only the needles, hoop and thread are new). It’s packaged in a lovely wee brown cardboard box, wrapped carefully in tissue paper and would make a lovely wee gift for anyone starting out on their embroidery journey.

I should probably explain the word ‘Bamtastic’. A while ago now, I was having a conversation with my husband about my favourite Scottish words. Turns out they’re all mainly slang words. And with only three letters. What could possibly be more Scottish than embroidering the words Bam, Ned or Fud on to a small piece of tartan and sticking them up on the wall (perhaps next to the cludgie?!) to bring a wee smile to someone’s face.

They are beginner level embroidery, no real experience needed. I might even do a YouTube video this week showing you how to make them (if I can ever figure out how to use the wee tripod thingy)
